Q: How did the tool function
as far as saving you time?
A: I used this scan tool for several weeks
as my first " go-to " tool for pulling and
clearing codes, performing some service
resets, looking at live data, and completing
monitors on several vehicles. Since it
is a handheld unit with no VCI, there was
no waiting for the scan tool to connect. It
was very fast to identify the vehicle and
perform those basic functions.
Q: What kind of setup was involved
before using the product?
A: There was no setup required with the
tool, however, there is an app that can be
connected via Bluetooth, so users can store
reports and access a verified fix database.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Innova 5610 CarScan Pro is
a scan tool designed to help technicians
find and fix problems more
efficiently. More than a stand-alone
tool, it includes access to Innova's
RepairSolutions2 knowledge base
of over 60 million verified fixes. With
5610, users receive vehicle-specific
inspection reports with fixes, guided
diagnostics, and troubleshooting information.
Advanced features include
oil life, brake pad life, battery voltage,
TPMS status, and live data. Fixes for
body and chassis codes and full network
scan results are available for supported
vehicles. Factory and NHTSA
recalls, TSBs, service maintenance,
and predictive diagnostics help shops
alert customers of potential issues.

Q: How easy was it to use?
A: The tool is very easy and intuitive
to use.
Q: How was its packaging? Did it
come with any accessories?
A: A small carrying case and a USB cable
were included for future updates.
Q: Was there a manual included? If
so, did you use the manual, and was
the manual easy to understand?
A: There was a small manual included that
included basic functions and instructions
for downloading the app and connecting
the tool to Bluetooth on your phone.
Q: What features did you like?
A: The speed at which it connected to my
Mercedes Sprinter and pulled global and
manufacturer-specific codes was impressive.
I also cleared codes from several other
models such as Honda, Toyota, and VW.
Q: What types of jobs/repairs
did you use this tool for?
A: Checking codes on a 2014 Sprinter and
clearing codes after the repair. Quick prescan
for codes on a 2005 Honda Element
and viewing live data in the PCM for drivability
issues. I was able to quickly identify
a high MAP reading, indicating a need for
a valve adjustment and confirm readings
were normal after the valve adjustment.
Scanned several other vehicles for codes.
Q: How does this tool compare to
other tools you've used like it?
A: As a professional technician, I was not
expecting much of this scan tool. It operates
and feels very much like a DIY-style

tool. I would normally own a much more
capable tool, so I did not have to depend
on the shop-supplied scan tool. However,
I could see this being a good scan tool for
a brand-new technician who wanted to be
able to check and clear codes and perform
basic resets required after a battery replacement
or maintenance procedure. A general
service technician would be able to afford
and use this tool efficiently until he had the
experience and need for a higher-level tool.
Q: Any questions or concerns
about the tool?
A: My first impression was that this scan
tool was too flimsy to survive a working
technician who is admittedly rough on
their equipment. All of my tools travel in
my van. I was intentionally rough on this
tool. It has handled it all well and is still
going strong.
