3. 4. 5. Philadelphia is known for its historical significance. Are there any hidden gems or lesser-known sites that you personally recommend? Our chapter's footprint covers Greater Philadelphia which includes south jersey and Delaware. There's a lot of history across all those areas but I went to a gala in the city a few years ago at Penn Museum and was amazed at all the African artifacts and history that was there. I also attended a gala at the Squash Center in the city which was an interesting venue space to host a gala. As you can tell I love going to galas in the city! Philadelphia is renowned for its arts and culture scene. Could you share your favorite museums, galleries, or art walks you enjoy visiting? We recently held an event at Ubuntu Art Gallery which is a black owned art gallery in Philly. I was amazed at the space and impressed with the beautiful artwork! Philadelphia has diverse events and festivals throughout the year. Which ones do you eagerly anticipate and attend regularly? The Roots picnic is huge and probably my favorite to go. I've been going since 2009. This past year was the very first HBCU Festival to take place in Philadelphia and this is now also my new fave.
