Abstract
Implant dentistry was not a part of the dental school curriculum for the vast majority of dentists in practice. This is
why so many mistakes are made. Only now are dental schools
starting to incorporate adequate training in implantology.
Many dentists are more concerned with saving money by cutting corners or performing a procedure too quickly. Here are
several factors that can contribute to dental implant mistakes.
Educational Objectives
At the end of this program participants will be able to:
1. Identify problems that can arise during/after an
implants placement
2. Describe implant angulations, distribution and
other mishaps
3. Understand the limitations of implant placement
4. Learn how to place successful implants
5. Learn how to overcome these mistakes and mishaps
