Understanding
Exceptional-Needs Patients
Introduction
Patients with exceptional needs are not just those with physical impairments. With the increasing number of diagnoses, it is more likely we'll see
patients who have a form of mental illness, autism spectrum disorder or
ADHD. Developing a greater understanding of these conditions will enable
dental hygienists to offer the best care specific to patients' individual needs.
