It sounds like her reasons for not being able to follow the new protocol are based on old habits. She needs to understand that while it may have been done a little differently in the past, it's time for change and you've added time to her schedule to help make those changes a little easier. You definitely want to take care of this ASAP; you don't want to start having patients wait longer than necessary and/or not get the treatment they need and expect. Her running behind can affect everyone in the office, and you want to get it under control before it becomes a bigger problem. Good luck! ■ 2/15/2018 This is all exactly how I feel about it! And I am an RDH. Heck, even a perio chart with a dozen 5mm pockets does not take longer than 3-4 minutes to update. I do not tolerate RDHs who run behind or ones who can't finish most PAX recall appointments in an hour. Recently had an RDH whining about kids being booked for only 30 minutes, but we've been doing most kids in 30 minutes for 18 years, no problems (and she has hardly any in her schedule). ■ skr RDH Member Since: 07/21/07 Post: 8 of 31 2/15/2018 Maybe she just wants a chance to pee. Does she have any help cleaning and setting up, taking IOP and BW? Do you make her come get you for exams? Does she have to wait for you while you finish something? Personally, I think if you expect one person to do this with a great cleaning and any interaction with the patient, that time is a little short. jmslps Member Since: 11/30/05 Post: 9 of 31 FREE FACTS, circle 30 on card dentaltown.com \\ JUNE 2018 47http://www.solmetex.com http://www.dentaltown.com
