Making an Impact?
A large part of giving back is about finding what connects with you. If you'd like more
information about the mission organization Jay Geier works with, World Mission Partners,
visit worldmissionpartners.org, but there are hundreds of ways to give back through many
types of organizations. Here are just a few ideas to get you started. ■

Helping underprivileged
children
If you'd like to focus on helping children, try Dental Care for Children. This
nonprofit sets up mobile dental clinics
at orphanages, schools and community
centers in the U.S., Haiti and Mexico
to provide dental treatment for kids in
need. Along with accepting donations,
Dental Care for Children offers volunteer
opportunities at their clinics for dentists
and their team members, including administrative staff.

Assisting veterans
To lend a hand to veterans, the U.S. Department of Veteran
Affairs is a great place to start-visit www.volunteer.va.gov or
contact your local VA Medical Center. Also, the nonprofit Dentists
for Veterans organization focuses on providing low- or no-cost
dental care to vets. The group accepts donations that may be taxdeductible and offers several volunteer
opportunities. For more information,

Providing free dental care
If offering free dentistry interests you, a
couple of nonprofit organizations can help
you make it happen. Dentistry from the Heart
helps dentists host free treatment events at
their offices. The doctor purchases the group's
help in developing the event, as well as the
necessary legal assistance and marketing
support to make it a success. To discover

Another great
starting point is Dental
Lifeline Network,
which focuses on
providing dental care
to the permanently
disabled, elderly and
medically fragile. The
organization makes
it easy to donate
money and provide
free dentistry through
its Donated Dental
Services program; coordinators work with
volunteer dentists to make the free treatment
process seamless and with minimal paperwork.
