message board Extraction Plan for a Case With Possible Condensing Osteitis A Townie asks for a second opinion before starting with the proposed treatment plan SNP15 Member Since: 07/29/15 Post: 1 of 11 Below is the progress records of a 47.4 year old in treatment. To me this is an extraction of 5s case. I did a setup with extraction of a lower incisor only and I didn't like the result (a very large overjet). My question is regarding the radiopacity around LR7. The oral surgeon has been monitoring that area for the last five years and he feels it is condensing osteitis that has not changed over the years. I will have the DDS look at the possible radiolucency around LR1. Would anyone still extract 5s in this case with LR7 as it is? ■ 8/3/2020 Fenrisúlfr Member Since: 02/25/09 Post: 2 of 11 SNP15 Member Since: 07/29/15 Post: 3 of 11 Fenrisúlfr Member Since: 02/25/09 Post: 4 of 11 whiskeyriver Member Since: 02/05/13 Post: 5 of 11 fox2 Member Since: 11/05/06 Post: 6 of 11 I agree with your plan. ■ 8/3/2020 Thanks. Have you had any issues moving a molar with possible condensing osteitis? ■ 8/3/2020 None that I recall. More of a challenge moving it through the sinus. ■ I agree. Upper incisors really flared. ■ 8/4/2020 8/10/2020 I personally do not think I would take out teeth for this case. Not because of the CO, but I think she looks nice now and her face may flatten with extractions. The only concern would be gingiva on lower incisors which I would just warn her about before. ■ 8/10/2020 22 OCTOBER 2020 // orthotown.com OT1020_MB2_Extraction_AG.indd 22 9/23/20 9:43 AMhttp://www.orthotown.com
