Attachments! Are you planning Invisalign or clear aligners? I don't think this is a good or

a mandibular advancement. You may get into trouble if you ext molars and she drops back. ■
Tough case. It was probably a tough case the fi rst time, and compliance may have been an
issue. When I see re-treats, I try not to assume the previous orthodontist was a wacko and that
somehow I am the savior.
With that said, in my opinion, success will come from opening the bite and not fl aring the
lower incisors any more. Extracting 6s or 5s should work as long as you get the upper intruded
and uprighted without burning any anchorage. That can be done with effi ciently with Aussie
wires (Mulligan arches) or using intrusion arches. I would probably extract U5s and use Aussie
2-by-6 arch with strong anchor bends mesial to the second molars and skip the 6s. ■

I'm not familiar with Aussie wire. Is it round and it's
supposed to be fi rmer than traditional steel, right? Are you
sliding the canine back fi rst while intruding the incisors?
Do you fi nd this V-bend in front of the molars provides
absolute anchorage? How big of a bend are you doing, and
do you fi nd any fl aring of the incisors as you intrude? ■
