Unlike other spring assist portables that move the backboard closer to the base when the rim is lowered, T-Rex Sport allows rim height adjustment while the base is in the play position without significantly sacrificing safe play area under the basketball when young players are using at lowered rim heights. The base is fully padded with 2 " thick polyurethane foam on sides and on the front to a height of 72 " . At official 10' rim height, the approximate safe play area is 50 " and 42 " at 7½'. When lowered for transport and storage, the total storage height is 76 " to fit through most storage room double doors or garage doors. Choose from 36 " x 60 " clear glass, 36 " x 60 " smoked glass, or 36 " x 60 " clear unbreakable polycarbonate backboard. Base padding is covered with 16-ounce black leather grain vinyl, but can be ordered in other colors (see page 95) at an additional cost using BA853UP for orders of 2 or more.
