IIt's time again for the annual Farm
Market Bus Tour! This full day bus tour
will be held the day before the Great
Lakes Fruit, Vegetable & Farm Market
EXPO. Participants will visit new
markets in different areas of West
Michigan. The tour is sponsored by
Fruit Growers News and Vegetable Growers News.
The Farm Market Bus Tour is a great opportunity to
network with other farm marketers, while learning how
some innovative farmers get their products onto the
tables of consumers using creative and unique marketing
strategies. There will be interactive discussions while
traveling on the buses to share information, which will
be moderated by Michigan State University Extension
educators.
The cost of the tour is $185 per person which includes
lunch and snacks. If you register after November 15th,
the cost is $205 and subject to availability. Registration is

Greenhouse Biological Control Essentials: Setting
Yourself Up For Success

Successful pest management is an essential component
of growing high-quality crops in protected environments.
We are pleased to offer a one-day workshop aimed at
providing beginning and advanced practitioners with the
knowledge they need to develop and refi ne a greenhouse
biological control program. This workshop places special
emphasis on controlling pests in spring fl oriculture crops
and features three guest experts in biological control:
Suzanne Wainwright-Evans (Buglady Consulting), Dr.
Sarah Jandricic (Ontario Ministry of Agriculture), and
Dr. Steven Arthurs (BIOBEE USA). Morning classroom
sessions will cover best cultural practices and key pest
ID as well as some tips on taking photographs for easier
pest identifi cation. After the classroom sessions and
lunch (included), we'll travel to one of Michigan's premier
perennial producers, Walters Gardens, for an afternoon of
live demonstrations and discussion on essential cultural
practices and application techniques. Afternoon topics
include cutting dips, post-delivery handling and quality
checks, crop scouting, and releasing benefi cial organisms.
Participants will be able to ask questions of our experts
