This annual event is being held on the fi rst day of the EXPO
again this year. This is a free luncheon program open to
all Michigan apple growers. The luncheon is sponsored
by the Michigan Apple Committee and a number of
industry sponsors. A featured speaker will entertain and
inform those attending. This year's program also features
the crowning of the 2024 Michigan Apple Queen by the
reigning Michigan Apple Queen, Sylvia Freeland. There
will also be industry updates from the Michigan Apple
Committee and USApple during the program.

Members of the Midwest Pickle Association and the
Pickle & Pepper Research Committee for MSU are invited
to attend this special research reporting and business
program. The program includes a working lunch; joint
business meeting of both organizations; and cucumber
research reporting by researchers from Michigan State
University, University of Wisconsin, and USDA Agricultural
Research Service.

Society (MSHS) will include director elections and reports

Phil Bubar was the Lead Pastor of The Chapel in St Joseph
for 27 years before retiring in May. He will be joining us
at the 2023 Prayer Breakfast to share from Romans 12
and the book of Philippians. Just as our farms can be
transformed by careful cultivation, so too can our minds
be changed by what we think and study.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Michigan Vegetable Council
(MVC) will include director elections and reports on
activities. All members are welcome.

The banquet will feature a serving of Michigan foods and
wines. The program features recognition of people for
outstanding service to our fruit and vegetable industries.
This year's recipients of the Fruit and Vegetable Industry
Scholarships and Jordan Tatter Scholarships will be
recognized as well. And the winning entries in this year's
Cider Contest will be announced.
Tickets are $50. Advance purchase through registration
is recommended. A limited number of tickets will be
available at registration until noon on Wednesday.
