BASEBALL/SOFTBALL BACKSTOPS Bison Baseball and Softball Backstops are super heavy and built to last. The unique 3½ " diameter galvanized gooseneck " hooded " design eliminates connection points that add complexity to installation and are prone to failure. The vertical height is approximately 12' and the 45˚ " hood " extends approximately 7' for excellent ball retainment and safety. Horizontal support tubes are 15/8 " diameter galvanized tubing. Order Backstop Safety Padding separately. All vertical and hood sections are covered with commercial 9 ga. galvanized chain link mesh attached with 100% galvanized hardware. Gooseneck 45° Hood Straight Backstops As the name implies, Bison Straight Backstops are the same as Bison Winged Backstops but without the wings. Straight Backstops satisfy the needs of many field designs at a lower cost. All Straight Backstops include 12' vertical height with approximately 7', 45˚ hood completely covered with commercial grade 9 ga. chain link mesh. See chart to choose between 18' and 24' options. Winged Backstops Bison Winged Backstops add 6', 45˚ wings to each end of the straight section for added safety and foul ball retainment. Bison's 4mm knotless PE mesh has 11/8 " square openings and is superior to many other mesh netting systems.
