1. Air-inflate four 11 " Onyx Black latex balloons to 9 " (23cm),
then create a 4-balloon cluster. Air-inflate four 11 " Goldenrod
latex balloons to 7 " (18cm) and create a second 4-balloon
cluster. Place the Goldenrod cluster on top of the black
cluster and push it through, then twist two of the balloons
several times to lock them together. Add a weight to the
center of the bottom cluster.
2. Air-inflate the 42 " " Number Six - Onyx Black " Microfoil
balloon, and then roll tie the neck using a scrap 26OQ. Tie
the Microfoil into the base on top of the Goldenrod Balloons.
3. Insert an 11 " " Simply Happy Birthday " inside the " Sweet
Bees & Daisies " Deco Bubble Balloon®. Air-inflate the latex
balloon to 11 " , and then reposition the valve to inflate the
Deco Bubble Balloon. Twist the neck of the latex and the
Bubble Balloon together several times then tie off with a
scrap 260Q.
4. Create an H-connection point on the top of the " Number
Six " Microfoil® using scrap 260Qs and Clik Clik® Sticky
Tape (See How to Create an H-Connection point). Create
a 4-balloon cluster using two 5 " Yellow and two 5 " Onyx
Black balloons sized to 3.5 " (9cm) and attach to the
connection point using the 260Q. Tie the Bubble Balloon
into the center of the cluster.
5. Air-inflate the remaining Black, White, and Yellow 5 " latex
balloons to random sizes between 3 " (8cm) and 5 " , then tie
into 4-balloon clusters. Set three of your clusters aside for
the top of the design. Take a 260Q and attach a cluster to
both ends. Pull the 26OQ through the base and position
the clusters on opposite ends. Repeat with remaining
clusters. Make sure the scrap is not showing in the base.
Using Balloon Bond, add two of the clusters to the top of
the " Number 6 " Microfoil, and one to the top of the " Sweet
Bees & Daisies " Deco Bubble Balloon.
6. To create the " Buzzing Bees " around the #6: Curl a
Yellow 260Q (See How to Curly 260Q) and leave 2 " (5cm)
uninflated. Starting at the knot end, make three 1 " (3cm) Pinch
Twists (See How to Pinch Twist). Repeat with a second yellow
260Q. Air-inflate a 14 " Mini Sweet Bee and heat-seal (See
How to Heat Seal). Use a scrap 260Q to roll tie the neck.
Repeat with the second Bee. Wrap the 260Q into the center
of the three Pinch Twists on each 260Q.
7. To create the loop around the #6 Microfoil, inflate a Yellow
260Q leaving 2 " uninflated. Starting at the knot end of the
balloon, create three 1 " Pinch Twists. Wrap the 26OQ through
the center of the #6 and form a loop. Twist the balloon into
the Pinch Twists, tie off and remove the excess. Repeat on
the opposite side of the #6.
