rnaments are one of the most popular souvenirs for tourists to
purchase when visiting a new place. It's a physical reminder of their
travels and adventures over the years each time they look at their
Christmas tree.
Old World Christmas creates a variety of ornaments that can be featured
in science museums, art museums, zoos and aquariums, museums of
industry, auto museums, location specific and more.
Since 1979, Old World Christmas has been handcrafting its ornaments
using age-old techniques, with the intention of making holiday celebrations
magical. The company has one of the most extensive blown-glass
ornament collections in the industry. Old World Christmas exists to
celebrate every occasion, for every family.
" Old World Christmas products make new memories and
commemorate old ones - they help bring 'meaningfulness' to the
season, " said Julie Stern, senior vice president of Brilliant, a firm
representing Old World Christmas.
To create its ornaments, Old World Christmas starts with art
renderings that show all four views: front, back and both sides. The
drawings are then taken and sculpted into 3D clay models. This process
takes seven to 10 days to ensure that all details are captured. Once the
clay is finalized, a steel mold is made of each ornament. Glass tubes are
heated and blown into the mold to form the ornament's shape.
The glass goes through a cooling process before the silvering process
takes place. A solution is then poured into the glass, coating the inside
