What decorating trends will be hot in 2021? The experts weigh in.
T
he desire to decorate our
homes and celebrate the
holidays
has
never
been
stronger. Some consumers will be
craving the newest trends while others
will be pining for the comforting
familiarity
of
classic
traditions.
For an inside look at the upcoming
season, Holiday Shop sat down with
Cameron Bowersox, director of
product development at RAZ Imports
to discuss the look of Christmas 2021.
What do you see as the overarching
trends of the holiday season?
Cameron Bowersox: While we're
seeing a great deal of interest in our
red and white theme, Snowed In,
we're also seeing customers gravitate
towards the warmer, more traditional
themes like Chalet and O Holy Night.
So, while there's always a place for
red, red and white, and red and green,
there's an uptick in interest in themes
that favor metallics and neutrals.

What color ways are trending for
2021?
CB: Surprisingly, neutrals. Our
top-selling themes are all anchored
by white with pops of either ivory
and gold or gold and silver. We also
see white performing in our casual
themes
like Holiday Homestead.
Again, red and white have proven
to be a fan favorite in Snowed In and
Peppermint Parlor, and we see the
continued love for red, green and
gold in themes like Christmas Eve.
What kind of impact do you think
the pandemic will have on holiday
decorating this year?
CB: Due to widespread logistical
some products will be in
shorter supply than others this
year - we've started our Spring
and Holiday 2022 lines even earlier
this year in an attempt to mitigate
any delays or potential shipping
issues. We have seen an uptick in
issues,
online sales via our website, virtual
showroom visits, and our virtual
showroom tour on razimports.
com. Finally, with the pandemic
seemingly easing in the United
States, we know that customers are
ready to get together this year and
celebrate big - we can't wait to see
how they decorate!
What new themes do you expect to
be popular?
CB: This coming year, we're
celebrating the warmth of home and
the home away from home with some
themes that help you dress up your
space for winter festivities and others
that highlight travel and are inspired
by some of our teams' favorite places.
We anticipate interesting transitional
themes with everyday items that can
take you beyond the holidays and
bring cheer to the new year. We
think you'll also see new spins on
nostalgic icons.
