Shoppe Object draws record attendance
Shoppe Object occurred Feb. 5-7 on Manhattan's
Lower East Side with a larger footprint, a bigger brand
count, a sold-out floor and record-breaking attendance,
according to show executives.
The show's expansion included 30% more exhibition
space to facilitate 150 new brands (for a total of 600plus
cross-channel
participants).
With attendees
representing six continents, 38 countries and all 50
states, Shoppe Object managed significant growth while
maintaining the carefully curated, design-forward ethos
and engaging presentation that first defined it.
" We had two clear objectives for this market, " shared
Jesse James, Shoppe Object's founder and show director.
" To fill the new pavilion without sacrificing an ounce of
quality, and to attract new buyers at a rate that outpaced
the expansion. "
Visitors arrived in record numbers with a 35%
increase over Shoppe Object's August edition, a 60%
jump from the previous year, for its largest-ever
audience. The carefully imagined space featured a large
wall of available artwork from Darrell Dean, the show's
North Carolina-based " Artist of the Season, " as well
as dramatic and colorful installations from Dallas' The
Color Condition.
OneCoast to create flagship showroom
at Dallas Market Center
OneCoast and Dallas Market Center are teaming up to
create an expansive new flagship showroom on the first
floor atrium, open in time for the January 2024 Total
Home & Gift Market.
According to the companies, the expanded location
aims to provide an enhanced shopping experience for
its existing customers while expanding its reach to the
western region retailers.

In order to accommodate the new OneCoast
showroom, the existing Gourmet Market exhibitors will

transition into a larger, new neighborhood of gourmet
and housewares resources participating in The Temps
at Total Home & Gift Market beginning in January 2024,
Dallas Market Center said.
SURTEX 2023 returns to NYC as
standalone event
Commercial art and surface design show SURTEX is
set to return to New York City as a standalone event May
9-10, according to Emerald Holding.
Previously hosted together with Emerald's NY NOW,
the redesigned SURTEX event will take place at New
York City's Metropolitan Pavilion
Chelsea neighborhood.

According to show executives, SURTEX has been
enhanced with a dedicated focus in response to a high
level of pent-up demand among both artists and buyers.
The nature of the event aims to create an engaging,
collaborative environment for buyers and sellers of the
latest commercial art and designs. This year's event is
expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors representing
the leading commercial artists and designers from
around the world, Emerald said.
Avanti Press to distribute NIQUEA.D in
North America
Brand creator and creative visionary Dominique
Schurman's NIQUEA.D lifestyle brand of greeting cards
and stationery will be exclusively distributed to the
North American retail trade by greeting card publisher
Avanti Press in cooperation with Schurman's recently
established licensing partnership with Calendar Holdings.
Living in California as a first-generation American,
the NIQUEA.D brand was influenced by Dominique's
European heritage and love of nature. The products have
been inspired by people and moments that have touched
her life through emotion, laughter and tears - qualities
born of the heart that have become the soul of the brand,
according to the company.
Avanti Press adds NIQUEA.D to its current ensemble
of Avanti, America and A*Press greeting card brands.
Avanti will fully support existing NIQUEA.D retail
customers effective March 15 in the U.S. and effective
June 1 in Canada.
Appointments for the expanded Avanti Press multibrand
retail ensemble program will begin in June.
Calendar Holdings serves as the licensee of NIQUEA.D
and will serve the NIQUEA.D direct-to-consumer
marketplace through its various e-commerce platforms.
