Knock Out Rose Celebrates 25 Years
NGB Reveals Green Thumb Award

The National
Garden Bureau (NGB)
has revealed the
winners of its 2025
Green Thumb Awards.
These awards,
Star Roses and Plants announced its award-winning
Knock Out rose is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
First introduced in 2000, the Knock Out Rose became
known for its continuous bloom cycle, remarkable disease
resistance and dazzling colors.
" The Knock Out rose has become an icon in gardens
and landscapes across the country, " said Brad Yoder,
president at Star Roses and Plants. " Its ability to thrive
with minimal care has made it a favorite among casual
gardeners and professionals alike. Celebrating 25 years
of success is a testament to its timeless appeal and
extraordinary genetics. "
De Vroomen Marks 100-Year
Anniversary
De Vroomen Garden Products will celebrate its 100th
anniversary in 2025. Jacobus Theodorus De Vroomen
founded the company in 1925 as a small, family-owned
horticultural business in the Netherlands that's now a
global leader in the import of flower bulbs, perennials,
annuals and seeds.
De Vroomen celebrated numerous milestones over
the past century, beginning with the involvement of
the founder's three sons - Hugo, Ben and Dick De
Vroomen - in 1949. Their support helped the company
expand and establish itself as a prominent name in the
bulb industry. This growth was further catalyzed by De
Vroomen's international expansion in 1961 with the
establishment of subsidiaries in the U.S. and Canada.
The centennial celebrations for De Vroomen also will
include the release of two products: the Centennial Tulip
Blend Marcy and Centennial Peony. Centennial Tulip
Blend Marcy features lily-flowering and double tulips.
Centennial Peony, known for its exceptionally large, pure
white, double-petaled and fragrant blooms, is a tribute
to De Vroomen's leadership in top-quality perennials.
De Vroomen's 100th year includes the launch of the
Sesame Street Collection, a collaboration with Sesame Street
designed to inspire young gardeners and their families.
