Cold-pressed juice product receives
Mindful Awards recognition
Wonder Juice, a line of organic cold-pressed juice made from fresh
fruits and vegetables, has been named the Juice Product of the Year
in the 2024 Mindful Awards program.
Mindful Awards is an independent recognition platform highlighting
companies and products that mindfully impact the ever-expanding
world of consumer-packaged goods, according to a news release.
New Jersey-headquartered Wonder Juice manufactures Fair Trade
certified Wonder Melon, Wonder Lemon and Wonder Beet products
in recyclable glass bottles using cold pressing, a process that uses
hydraulic pressure to extract juice with minimal oxidation and heat to
preserve enzymes and nutrients.
Wonder Juices are blended with cucumbers, cherries, berries,
apple juice and natural vegetables, with no added sugars, and are
non-GMO certified, according to the release.
Goldenberry Farms launches
recyclable mango retail pack
Goldenberry Farms has expanded its Sugar Mango miniature
mango brand with a new recyclable consumer retail pack, developed
at the request of retailers.
The pack allows the specialty mango to be showcased and priced
with a UPC code, according to a news release. Participating retailers
may also benefit from Goldenberry's " Sweet Sugar Mango Store
Locator, " which directs consumers to the nearest retail location.

Ohio-based third-party logistics company ODW Logistics has
received a Food Logistics 2024 Top 3PL & Cold Storage
Providers award, recognizing leading providers in the food and
beverage industry.
ODW Logistics operates 32 facilities totaling 9 million square feet,
according to a news release. The company offers dry, temperaturecontrolled
and frozen warehousing solutions as well as distribution
and transportation management.
" To be recognized in this sector of the industry is always a
privilege, " Jeff Clark, executive vice president at ODW Logistics,
said in the release. " Access to such necessary assets and facilities
is what helps in making ODW maintain its leadership as well as
flexibility in a market that is consistently evolving to meet the
demands of consumers, retailers and supply chain disruptions. "
According to a 2024 Straits Research report, the global cold chain
logistics market, valued at $280 billion in 2022, is estimated to
reach more than $1 billion by 2031.
PMMI Foundation awards nearly
$200,000 in scholarships
The PMMI Foundation, the charitable arm of PMMI, The
Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has awarded
nearly $200,000 this year in educational scholarships to students
pursuing careers in the packaging and processing industry.

Canada-based Lassonde Industries is acquiring The Zidian Group,
which operates Ohio-based specialty food manufacturer Summer
Garden Food, for $235 million.
An additional amount of up to $45 million may be payable over the
next three years if certain financial targets and other conditions are
met, according to a news release.

This year, $75,000 in PMMI Member Family Scholarships were
awarded to immediate family members of PMMI member company
employees interested in packaging and processing careers. Fifteen
students received $5,000 annual awards.
