ALL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
EXERCISES START WITH THE SURFACE.
While Mark Fitzgerald has been one of the top
hockey strength and conditioning coaches for
more than 15 years, his knowledge and impact
extends way beyond the sport. Even while
serving as the Strength and Conditioning Coach
of the Anaheim Ducks for from 2015 to 2019,
Mark has helped athletes at all levels as owner
of Elite Training Systems (ETS), a company that
he created in 2012 that he continues operate and
serve as the Director of Strength and
Conditioning. The company has two facilities
in Ontario, one in Whitby and one in Windsor.
Fitzgerald has been involved three very different
strength and conditioning facility upgrades: the
construction of a brand-new facility for the
Ducks, the renovation of an existing facility for
ETS in Whitby, and the transformation of an
indoor swimming pool into a strength training
facility in Windsor.
Mark's philosophy for improving his strength
training facilities is the same as his approach to
training athletes.
" Selecting products for your strength training
facilities requires the same core values as
training your athletes, " Fitzgerald says. " You need
to always think about maximizing your athletes'
potential and experience, even with the products
involved. You need to buy the products-including
the surfaces-that will maximize the potential
of your athletes.
Fitzgerald feels the biggest advantage of
