The Holland Transplanter Model 1265
Mulch Planter will plant in bare ground
or plastic mulch. The only transplanter
able to plant a 4 " pot deep enough to
avoid wicking.
Holland offers 7 different size spades
that are interchangeable from ¾ " square
and round plug/ cell to a 4 " plug/cell.
With the planting operator sitting at a
comfortable upright position about 24 "
off the ground, the spades rotate past
the operator and the plant is
dropped into the spade. It then
continues its rotation, piercing the
plastic and into the soil below. When it
is at its deepest depth it automatically
opens the hole and sets the plant at
the same time. The spade remains
open as it raises out of the ground,
leaving the plant in the ground. The
water valve then gives each plant a
shot of water on both sides to ensure
the cell or root ball has a " perfect seal. "
The two rubber tire packing wheels
follow, pressing the soil gently around
the plant.
