with new offerings
Rainbow Valley Seed will
be celebrating 25 years in
business next year in 2020.
We have two new corns
for 2020 which we are proud
to offer:
RBV-1010 Burnt Sunset
110-day. This eye-catching
dark red maroon-black color
corn has girthy type ears
with both dent and smooth
kernels. Big stalks, good for
ornamental or for milling.
8-inch to 10-inch length.
RBV-1212 Woody's Best
Popcorn 110-day. Gourmet
type popcorn, very tender
and delicious tasting.
8-inch ears. Good stalk
quality. Easy shelling.
Our blue corn is also
becoming quite popular
in several different
applications.
RBV-7000 Blue Moon
110-day. This corn has a
girthy 9-inch to 10-inch ear.
Dent type, blue black vibrant
color on a very sturdy stalk.
This corn has proven to be
a great milling or chipper
corn. It distills quite well and
has 10% protein - good feed
quality. This is a proven good
yielder. A versatile hybrid.
We also offer a new multicolored
hybrid, which has
proven to do very well in
our field trials.
RBV-1009UR Dazzling
Sunset 110-day. This hybrid
has long ears with dazzling
color combinations. It also
has great stability in the
field as well as yields. Great
full season hybrid.

specialty hybrids for our

New offerings from American Takii
American Takii has a number of
selections the company anticipates
will go over well with growers.
Hybrid Collard Hi-Crop has
a medium plant size with an
upright habit. It has mediumearly
maturity, ready to harvest
approximately 80 days posttransplant.
Deep green semi-savoy
leaves have smooth, rounded
leaf margins. Best adapted to the
spring harvest season, Hi-Crop
has high tolerance to premature
bolting. Plant habit remains open
with cold temperatures. Consistent
for type with uniform plant size
and leaf size distribution. Good
taste, suitable for processing.
Hybrid onion Ridgeline is a
medium-early, long day, yellow
storage type onion and shows
high pack-outs with high process
recovery rates and is slow to bolt.
It adapts well for transplant as well
as direct seeding. Globe-shaped
bulbs are mostly jumbo sized. It
has intermediate tolerance to pink
root and basal rot and features a
good balance of earliness, size and
storage-ability.
Hybrid onion Traverse has
mid-season maturity and is a
F1 PROMISE
long day, yellow storage type.
Featuring strong tops and roots,
it has strong tolerance to pink
root and fusarium.
Hybrid cabbage Promise has
medium-large plants which
produce large, round, very dense,
attractive green smooth heads.
It has good field holding with
mid-storage potential. Ideal for
both fresh and process markets,
Promise matures approximately
105 days from transplant. With
high tolerance to fusarium yellows
its yield potential is excellent. The
recommended harvest period is
summer to fall. Primary growing
areas are the northeast United
States and southeast Canada.
Hybrid cabbage Acclaim has a
medium-size frame that produces
round, attractive green heads for

the fresh market. It is ideal for
boxing. Acclaim is approximately
75 days from transplant and
has high tolerance to fusarium
yellows. Excellent heat tolerance
makes it well adapted for spring
harvest in the southeast and midAtlantic
