DIAGRAM 13: If X4 drops to the box, 4 must move
high to an open area and make themselves available for
a pass. Players away from the ball have to make sure the
passer can see them, so they need to find the open area.
DIAGRAM 14: This concept is extremely important
when the ball is trapped in the corner. As 3 is trapped,
it's essential for 2 to get to an open area for a possible
diagonal pass from 3. If they're a good outside shooter, we
encourage 2 to take the open 3-point shot. On the shot, we
have outstanding weak-side rebounding position.
This zone trap attack requires great spacing, good timing,

hard cutting, player movement, ball movement, pass fakes,
shot fakes, dribble penetration, ability to read situations, and
effective offensive rebounding. These are concepts every
team should strive for in all of their offensive patterns. Make
sure you devote regular practice time to attacking traps, and
you'll likely see positive results.
