DAY ONE
EXPLORE Step inside Curwood
Castle, a can't-miss destination
built in Owosso in 1922 for
author James Oliver Curwood.
He wrote his books in the tower
of the castle that overlooks the
Shiawassee River.
From top: Take a
cruise on BaySail's
Appledore schooners;
Stroll through
the treetops on the
Canopy Walk in the
Whiting Forest of
Dow Gardens.
TASTE The Japanese Cultural
Center, Tea House, and Gardens
in Saginaw promotes intercultural
understanding and peace
through tea. Groups can book a
tea ceremony presentation.
INDULGE Indulge in samples, or
reserve a tasting or pairing event
at Artigiano Artisan Cheese
Shoppe in downtown Bay City.
Discover the ever-changing
selection of traditional European
cheeses, American originals,

CRUISE Sit back, relax, and enjoy
the view of Saginaw Bay from
the deck of a ship with BaySail
and the Appledore schooners
out of Bay City. For tour groups
looking for more activity, the
crew aboard the schooner is
ready to show them how to help
work the sails of the ship.

DAY TWO
STROLL At the Whiting Forest
of Dow Gardens in Midland,
explore the 1,400-foot, fully
accessible Canopy Walk. It's
the longest canopy walk in the
nation, suspended four stories
above the forest floor.
TOUR Take a guided tour of the
beautiful Alden B. Dow Home
& Studio, and learn about the
architect's life, including his
studies with Frank Lloyd Wright
and his home and studio.
EAT Enjoy lunch at Old City
Hall in Bay City. The building is
steeped in history, serving as the
police station, courthouse, jail,
and city hall in years past.
