NEWS, TRENDS AND INSPIRATION Nordic Life LUMINARY WONDER If you ever go to Norway to see the northern lights, you will undoubtedly come across the country's latest awardwinning international landmark. Located in Tana bru in the county of Troms og Finnmark-one of the world's most remotely inhabited regions-the suspension bridge is 853 feet long and 49 feet wide and is lit with more than 3,000 feet of color-changing luminaires. The lighting display is a beacon that reflects the natural beauty of Finnmark's extended sunrises and sunsets, as well as the stunning wonder of the northern lights-especially during the long winter nights. Since completion, the project has received various awards, including a 2021 LIT Lighting Design Award in the Exterior Architectural Illumination category. @sonsofnorway Mar/Apr 2023 7 PHOTO: FRANK MARTIN INGILÆ/NORWEGIAN ROAD ADMINISTRATION
