Underground Infrastructure Conference
Trade shows are important marketing and sales tools for industry
companies and are especially well-suited for construction
markets. Exhibiting at a carefully selected trade show
provides the opportunity for face-to-face communications
directly with existing and potential customers, as well as networking
opportunities during and after exhibit hours.
To get the most value for dollars spent at a trade show, an
exhibit must be noticed and make attendees want to stop and
get information. Design of the booth, products displayed and
video presentations can attract people.
In recognition of their outstanding exhibits, three companies
at UCT 2023 in Orlando earned the exclusive Show
Stopper Award.
Brownline
Brownline USA's 10-by-20-foot exhibit space promoted the
company's new horizontal directional drilling (HDD) guidance
system described by President and CEO James Cloud
as the most advanced in the industry. New graphics and layout
for the space were based on details of a project in Texas
where the Drillguide tool was used, consisting of 5.6 miles of
HDD across Lavaca Bay, from Port Lavaca to Point Comfort.
The gyroscopic steering tool (GST) does not require a
surveyed surface wire for steering operations and is not susceptible
to any kind of electro-magnetic interference from
either above or below ground anomalies, said Tom Forconi,
Brownline business development manager.
" The system consists of highly accurate components and
software that provide a proven accuracy of 0.01 degree in
pitch and 0.04 degree in azimuth. The Drillguide GST provides
real-time, highly accurate navigational information
which allows for a smoother bore trajectory and has proven
to reduce drag and stress during installation. "
To compliment the GST, Brownline has developed a
comprehensive selection of steering systems for a multitude
of HDD projects. For example, Brownline has developed the
Drillguide RADAR System for intersecting projects. As the
bore paths reach the point of intersect, the RADAR Systems
are activated, and the two systems actively communicate
with each other to establish their relative position.
Forconi reports that since 2004, Drillguide Gyro Systems
have a well-documented record for providing a safe and cost-efficient
pilot hole for 4,300,000 feet long, and drilling with over
700,000 feet of intersect drills successfully completed.
