Delivering on its vision for zero accidents, Volvo
Construction Equipment launched its Collision
Mitigation System for Volvo wheel loaders.
The first of its kind from any original
equipment manufacturer (OEM), the system
helps reduce the risk or consequences of
collision. It functions only when the wheel
loader is in reverse - where it spends 40 to
50 percent of its time - and driving at speeds
between 1.86 and 9.32 miles per hour (3-15
kilometer per hour), regardless of the gear it's in.
When the wheel loader approaches any
obstacle, the system automatically activates the
brakes for 2 to 3 seconds, alerting the operator
to intervene [take further action] and slowing
the machine down before impact, or bringing it
to a stop to avoid impact.

expanded its backhoe loader line
with the launch of five additional
models, including the all-new CASE
580SV Construction King.
The all-new CASE 580SV Construction
King brings a tool carrier-style front end
back to the CASE backhoe line in North
America. This is ideal for businesses that
use the loader end of their backhoe as a primary material handler - loading and unloading
pallets, moving pipe and other bundled material around the yard.
Adding a 4-in-1 bucket, a 6-in-1 bucket, or any of the countless attachments available for
CASE backhoes turns this into a robust multi-purpose job-site solution, and a hydraulic quick
coupler makes it easy. The new center pivot model is immediately available to the North
American market. CASE will be rolling out a side-shift model later in 2023.
Renewed growth and interest in backhoe loaders are due to a greater industry need for
multi-purpose machines in the wake of North America's ongoing skilled labor shortage. CASE
is embracing the increased demand, and giving contractors and business owners complete
confidence, by also providing the all-new Rock-Solid Guarantee on this backhoe loader model.
The CASE Rock-Solid Guarantee delivers a 36-month/1,000-hour-per-year lease through
CNH Industrial Capital that includes a one-year full-machine warranty, and an expanded
powertrain Purchased Protection Plan (PPP) with a total of 36 months/3,000 hours (or
whichever comes first) of powertrain protection.
Business owners who convert that lease to a purchase at the end of the term are eligible
for an additional 12 months/1,000 hours of powertrain protection (for up to a total of 48
months/4,000 hours, whichever comes first). The guarantee also includes a provision where
the contractor or business owner can walk away from the lease after 12 months, if not satisfied
- giving them further peace of mind as they invest in their business.

Atlas Copco has developed a new versatile
range of electric self-priming dewatering
pumps for a wide variety of applications, such
as sewage bypass, dewatering in mining, and
urban construction projects with access to a
power source.
These E-Pumps successfully manage
demanding flows and large solids with a
reduced CO2 footprint and lower total cost of
ownership (TCO) - an exciting alternative to
diesel-powered dewatering pumps. In addition,
they are quick and easy to install and ensure
high performance for longer periods of time.
Due to recent environmental regulations,
the need for dewatering pumps that can
operate in noise-sensitive and low-emission
zones is growing. With an extended life, these
reliable and efficient E-pumps offer sustainable
energy savings. Also, the maintenance
and servicing costs of electric motors are
substantially lower than diesel engines.
Service quality is high, with ensured ease
of access to the key internal elements of the
pump via the patented hinge door. In addition,
the electric motor does not need oil changes
or shutdowns for engine services.
Collision Mitigation System will remember
the last slope the machine climbed, allowing
operators to reverse down a pile without
activating it. It can also be temporarily
deactivated for specific site conditions.
In addition to further elevating job-site
safety, this new smart tool minimizes any
unplanned interruptions.
Developed in-house by Volvo CE, the
patent-pending Collision Mitigation System
is a factory-fit option available worldwide on
the L110H/L120H equipped with OptiShift,
L150H, L180H, L220H, L260H and L200H High
Lift wheel loaders. It requires a Radar Detect
System to be fitted.
