3,000 hours - for the hydraulic oil and fi lter.
This brings both cost savings from reduced
maintenance requirements and increased
uptime, and a positive environmental impact
without compromising on performance.
HCSS's HeavyBid now integrates with
PipelineSuite, a suite of software modules
that streamline the pre-construction bid
management " pipeline " more effi ciently, so
users can win more bids. This saves HeavyBid
users time and money, increasing effi ciencies,
productivity, and profi tability.
PipelineSuite refi nes the bid solicitation process
of creating bidder lists and sending out invitations
with the fewest clicks. The tool contains
a robust, searchable directory of subcontractors
in the USA and Canada, augmenting current
databases when there is a lack of coverage in a
particular area or trade. HCSS users gain access
to additional subcontractors they may not know
about, extending their coverage area.
A customizable platform, PipelineSuite allows
users to own, control, and edit its vendor/contacts
database, trades, and forms on the fl y. The prequalifi
cation module makes it easy to track which
subcontractors are qualifi ed, helping mitigate risk.
It also ensures bids go to the right subcontractors.
For example, DOT contractors can
prove they meet government requirements to
solicit bids from a certain percentage of minority,
women-owned, or disabled veteran fi rms.

EC500 heralds the next generation of faster, safer
and more productive excavators from Volvo
Construction Equipment. Manufactured at the
company's crawler excavator plant in Changwon,
Korea, EC500 production will begin in the
fourth quarter of 2023 and will be available in
select markets.
A successor to the Volvo EC480E, this 50-ton
crawler excavator was created for the toughest
applications, from building and construction,
road construction, utilities, quarrying and aggregates,
to agriculture and landscaping, and is the
ideal partner for the Volvo A25G to A35G hauler.
The biggest change can be seen in the cabin
design and styling, with new layout and features
including high-defi nition co-pilot screen,
keyless engine start, wired and wireless smart
phone charging, and new work mode switch.
A valuable new addition, Volvo Smart View
with Obstacle Detection delivers signifi cant safety
benefi ts. Operators enjoy a 360-degree view
thanks to an improved camera system and new
radar detection that provides automatic alerts
when the excavator approaches any obstacle.
This next generation of excavator is also set
up to access a range of machine options to
help operators complete their tasks faster, more
easily and more safely, as well as boost their
performance and productivity.
These include the operator coaching app
Volvo Dig Assist, a suite of tools designed to
help deliver excavator accuracy by eliminating
the need to manually mark out a site and check
depths and grades. Volvo Active Control, an
automated grading system and part of Dig
Assist, will also be available for the fi rst time on
an excavator of this size.
Increased cooling capacity means the
EC500 can handle the most extreme weather
conditions and the excavator also benefi ts
from longer service intervals - from 2,000 to
GF Central Plastics, the leader in transport
solutions for the natural gas industry, introduced
GasLOK, a robust and reliable excess fl ow valve
for natural gas service lines. This important safety
device creates a safer environment for both
customer and service provider, allowing key
repairs to take place without unnecessary risk.
In the rare case that a natural gas service
line experiences a rupture, the fl ow of gas to
residential or commercial customers may build
up behind the damaged area, posing a safety
hazard. GasLOK, a mechanical excess fl ow valve,
provides peace-of-mind in such an event by
limiting fl ow in response to abnormal pressures.
Available in three fabricated options (stick version,
cartridge installed inside the outlet of a tapping
tee, or a stick fused to a tapping tee outlet),
the valve contains a spring and a plunger. Under
normal conditions, the spring holds the plunger
in the open position, allowing gas to fl ow. But if
service line pressure drops suddenly, the change
will cause the spring to collapse, and the plunger
will signifi cantly reduce the fl ow of gas.
As a bypass type of excess fl ow valve
(EFV), it permits a small amount of gas to
pass through in its closed position. Once gas
pressures are equalized across the valve, the
spring will automatically reset, returning the
plunger to the open position.
GasLOK EFV is a self-contained, tamper-resistant
cartridge that is easy to install on either
new or replaced gas service lines, without any
need for additional parts or tools. The product
is robust and long-lasting, with an expected
operational lifespan of 50 years. It has met or
exceeded the requirements of D.O.T.192.381,
