Prenatal exposure to controlled substances Reporting is mandatory if a pregnant person has engaged in habitual or excessive use, for a nonmedical purpose of a controlled substance for nonmedical purpose during pregnancy or any of the following substances or their derivatives (260E.31, subd. 1): * Opium * Cocaine * Heroin * Phencyclidine * Methamphetamine * Amphetamine * Tetrahydrocannabinol * Alcohol It is not required to obtain patient authorization to submit the initial report, but is required for follow-up after the initial report.
