Outpatient Services
* If participating in virtual services, make sure your
environment is confidential. No one else should be in
the room with you.
* If participating in virtual services, participants must
have camera on and be visible during the session.
* If participating in virtual services, do not call into
therapy while driving.
* Wear appropriate clothing while participating in
therapy sessions.
* The use of nicotine products/electronic cigarettes is
not permitted during your session.
If you will be participating in groups, please review the
following expectations in addition to those previously
mentioned:
* Refrain from romantic and/or sexual involvement
with other patients.
* Unless using your cellphone to participate in group,
please silence notifications in order to limit the
number of distractions.
* Do not take pictures of anyone in group or make
recordings on any device.
* Maintain confidentiality in all group settings. What is
said in group and who is here, stays within the group.
* Be an active and positive participant in group.
Constructive feedback is always welcome.
* Movement can be distracting for other group
members. If participating in a group virtually, please
find a comfortable place to sit or stand for the
duration of the group.
* All interactions with group members should be
respectful and constructive. Your mental health
professional will assess your fitness for the group if
they have concerns about your interactions.
If you have questions or concerns, ask your mental
health professional.
Progress Measurement
You and your mental health professional will continue
to assess progress in therapy to ensure you are on track
to meet your therapeutic goals.
Progress in therapy may be measured by:
* Feedback Informed Treatment, which includes
objective assessment measures
* Whether you act in a manner that is consistent with
your goals
* How consistently you meet the guidelines and
expectations
* Evidence that you develop and maintain positive
relationships
* Continuing focus on your health and well-being
* Your ability to move from clinical care to self-care
* Whether you follow through on therapy
recommendations
Discharge Planning
You and your mental health professional will determine
the appropriate pace and timing of your discharge from
therapy, congruent with the goals of your treatment plan.
In the event that you or your treatment team believes
you are not making the expected progress, the mental
health professional will discuss this with you. New
treatment recommendations could be made that include
a referral to another Hazelden Betty Ford service or
even a program outside of Hazelden Betty Ford. If such
recommendations are made, you and those individuals
you had indicated you wanted involved in your
treatment, such as family members, significant others,
counselor, physicians and insurance companies, may be
included in the treatment and/or discharge planning
process.
Graduation
Two weeks prior to discharge, your counselor will
schedule a final continuing care conference with you.
This will likely include your parents or guardians.
The conference is used to review and discuss your
continuing care plan. Prior to program completion,
you will participate in a graduation with your peers
that commemorates the completion of your treatment
program and the progress you've made in your recovery
journey.
