Your Safety & Security
We pride ourselves on providing a safe and caring
environment-a place where you can feel comfortable
and begin to heal. Familiarizing yourself with the
following information about our services and regulations
will help make your stay more comfortable as well.
Facility Information & Services
Cell phones
Cell phones are allowed on our property; however, we
ask that individuals only use cell phones for emergency
purposes during the hours of treatment. Also, due to
confidentiality, we ask that no pictures, videos or audio
recordings of any kind be taken on our premises.
Hours of operation
Betty Ford Center's San Diego facility is open five days
a week, Monday though Thursday, from 7:45 a.m. to
9 p.m., and Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Doors are
locked Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 7:45 a.m.
Except for special periodic events, we are closed
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Injuries
In the event of an injury, even a minor one, notify a staff
member immediately. The staff member will notify the
authorities, if needed, and will file an incident report.
Lending or borrowing money
The lending and borrowing of money between patients
is not permitted. Please keep in mind that lending
money comes with risks, and you may not see this
money returned.
Medical emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, notify staff
members immediately. Staff will assist you in making
the appropriate arrangements for care.
Parking
Ample free parking is available on two levels of the
underground ramp. Limited parking is available on
street-level parking lots.
Personal belongings
The Betty Ford Center is not responsible for the loss or
theft of personal property brought into the facility.
Photographs
To ensure confidentiality and privacy of patients,
the Betty Ford Center does not allow photography or
videotaping in the Center without expressed permission
and attendance by a designated staff member.
Camera cell phones may not be used for photography.
Photography or videotapes taken without permission
will be confiscated or deleted. This policy also applies to
visitors.
Smoking/nicotine
Betty Ford Center's facilities are tobacco free. As
nicotine is an addictive substance, we offer programs
for individuals who want to quit using nicotine during
treatment. Your counselor can provide you with
information about accessing these services.
