CATERPILLAR LAUNCHES THIRD GLOBAL
OPERATOR CHALLENGE
Caterpillar Inc. invites machine operators worldwide to put their
agility, resilience, and versatility to the test on a wide range of
construction equipment and technology in the 2025-2026 Global
Operator Challenge.
" This challenge helps showcase and celebrate the exceptional
skills of the expert men and women in this important profession
as they forge their legacies of being the best operators in the
world, " says Caterpillar Construction Industries Group President
Tony Fassino.
Operators are invited to compete in local challenges facilitated
by Cat dealers around the globe during the first round, being held
from January-September 2025. The competitions will feature at
least three different challenges on at least three separate pieces
of equipment. Scoring is based on the operator's skills, safety,
efficiency, and competence in using integrated technology such as
payload, grade control, and operator ease-of-use features.
Winners from local dealer events will advance to regional semifinal
competitions during the fall of 2025. Nine finalists will emerge to
participate in the final competition in March 2026 at Caterpillar's
outdoor festival grounds exhibit during CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las
Vegas. The winner receives either a $10,000 cash prize or an equal
value trip for two where Caterpillar has a location worldwide.

SIX AIRPORT MEGAPROJECTS TAKE FLIGHT IN 2025
In 2025, several significant airport projects priced at over $1
billion are set to advance around the country. The growth is driven
by a healthy demand for larger and more modern facilities, as well
as by the continued rollout of the federal Infrastructure Investment
and Jobs Act funding.
The John Glenn International Airport in Columbus, Ohio,
is undertaking a massive $2 billion project to overhaul the
aerodrome and replace its current terminal.
Pittsburgh International Airport's $1.57 billion modernization
project features a new landside terminal, scheduled to open
this year, consolidating airline operations, public spaces, and
passengers under one roof.
Tampa International Airport will soon get its first new airside
terminal in almost 20 years. The 16-gate Airside D will serve as the
international arrivals and departures facility.
Nashville International Airport is undergoing a $1.5 billion series
of projects to keep up with a rapidly growing passenger count,
expanding two concourses.
Sacramento International Airport's $1.3 billion improvement
includes moving sidewalks, escalators, and elevators.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is charting a
comprehensive reimagining of the 97-year-old Newark Liberty
International Airport in New Jersey with modern terminals
and infrastructure.
