259. Moving Through the Sales
Funnel: How to Build General Brand
Awareness and Engage Consumers
at all Stages
EMILY LEINEWEBER; ANDY ROYSDON
Track: Business Development
LEVEL OF INSTRUCTION: ALL
This training will discuss the treatment provider
" Sales " Funnel: At what point in the decision-making
process does an organization or provider engage
the patient they seek to treat? Some organizations
engage patients and families well before the crisis
strikes, while others target the moment of crisis.
We will discuss how Ashley's marketing efforts engage
patients at the early stages of the decision process
by building general brand awareness and how
our Clinical Outreach team works to engage the front
line providers that work with the patient at the point
of crisis so that the referral process is as seamless
and successful as possible. We will also share how
organizations can identify the points in their Funnel
that patients typically exit without getting care and
how to prevent that from happening.

There is a broad understanding that high percentages
of individuals involved in our justice systems have
experienced serious lifetime trauma, in particular
during their formative childhood years. The effects of
adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) impact people
throughout all areas of life and can significantly
compromise their ability to recover from significant
life events, substance use disorders, and mental
illness, as well as making it difficult to access services
and increasing the likelihood of getting involved in
the criminal justice system. We will discuss in detail
how a cycle of violence is perpetuated by trauma,
the relevance of ACEs with justice involvement,
real-life examples of trauma and effective treatment,
and how we can work together to reduce recidivism.
Partnerships across and between corrections and
community systems that link individuals to care will
be highlighted. Being informed about these trauma
issues, their prevalence, and effective approaches to
care will improve lives and reduce the cycles of crime
and violence that affect us all.
276. Somatic Experiencing (SE)
and Dance-Movement Therapy
(DMT) With Eating Disorder Populations:
Healing Attachment and
Restoring Goodness to the Body
LESLEY TATE-GOULD, PSYD, SEP;
AMY VANBECELAERE, LCPC, R-DMT
Track: Core Clinical
LEVEL OF INSTRUCTION: INTERMEDIATE
The purpose of this presentation will be specific
to how the body-oriented approaches of somatic
experiencing (SE) and dance-movement therapy
(DMT) address disordered eating. Additionally, there
will also be interventions discussed in the workshop
to demonstrate how SE and DMT work with other
complexities commonly found with unresolved
traumatic responses (eg, proneness toward hyper or
hypo arousal states outside the window of tolerance).
The rationale for focusing on eating disorders in this
workshop is to highlight the expertise gained both
from clinical practice and dedication to widening
accessibility to integrate somatic-based practices
in acute treatment settings and with a specific presentation
that presents with elements central to the
treatment approach of both SE and DMT.
The presentation includes: An introduction of SE and
DMT and how the approach treats symptoms consistent
with disordered eating (outlined above); examination
of attachment injury/unresolved trauma-response
that contributes to ED symptom presentation;
live demonstration of movements/exercises used
with patients in group and 1:1 to alleviate symptoms
and promote trauma healing; and live demonstration
of resourcing/grounding movements utilized with ED
population to improve access to the body as a healing
resource from attachment wounds and trauma.
