in the interview process and ultimate
selection of our new Executive Director.
All of us on the Committee realized what
a heavy responsibility our Committee had
to select an individual who would carry
on Don's exceptional work in making our
Bar Association second to none in both
member and community service, and
continue to move us forward in excellence.
The members of the Committee: Kurt
Althouse, Heidi Masano, Michael Setley,
Mark Caltagirone, Alexa Antanavage,
Michael Wieder, and Daniel Nevins,
displayed incredible dedication and
thoughtfulness to the tasks of candidate
screening, interviews, and selection in
this year-long process. I cannot thank
the members of the Committee enough
for all of the support and hard work. If
you have not done so already, please take
the opportunity to introduce yourself to
Kori Walter, who was selected as our new
Executive Director by the Boards of the
Bar Association and Law Foundation in
September. Congratulations, Kori, and
we look forward to a long and productive
working relationship!
This issue is the final issue over which
Don Smith will act as Executive Director.
It is an especially great honor that in
October, The Berks Barrister received the
Luminary Award from the National
Association of Bar Executives at the
NABE meeting for a regular publication
for smaller bar associations. This honor is
well-deserved. The Barrister is well known
and held up as an example among bar
associations in Pennsylvania for the quality
of its content. I regularly hear from
lawyers and non-lawyers alike how much
they enjoy reading The Barrister, and
regularly see it in places such as physician,
dental, and accounting offices. The

our articles on law, and on topics of
