Berks County Medical Society Medical Record Summer 2019 - 23

Coordinator (CDHC) program; CDHCs are allied dental
personnel with skills focused on education and prevention who
work in underserved communities, provide limited clinical
services, and help connect patients to dentists who will provide
treatment. They are drawn from the communities they will
serve and understand the barriers that prevent access to oral
health services. Temple University is overseeing a pilot program
sponsored by the ADA to train students to work as CHDCs in
urban areas.

to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and
pre-term low weight births during pregnancy. We have
provided dental consultation and therapy for snoring,
jaw pain, headaches, and insomnia in association with TMJ
Dysfunction and/or Sleep Apnea. We have introduced Cranial
Sacral Therapy as part of a larger focus on craniofacial pain.
And, we continue to serve clients with general dentistry and
orthodontic services, promoting general health and wellness.
