Artist statement for Polly Davis Chalfant:
I feel my work comes from a place where intuition lives.
Observations of my surroundings inspire me and I am thrilled
when I see something I term "Magic Moments" when "That's
It!" happens. The world stops and I feel I am witnessing
something sacred. I have dreams of landscapes so powerful and
amazing that I yearn to paint them, to understand them. These
dreams are of that moment. I think part of the adventure of
painting is trying to understand what the magic was all about.
The natural and man-made environment is a springboard to
exploration of light, color, textures, and composition.

Polly Davis Chalfant
Polly followed her brother and graduated from Henderson
High in 1970, then attended the Hussian School of Art and the
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Polly admitted that her
interest in art began as a child and that spending her childhood
outdoors in beautiful East Bradford Township, exploring its hills
and dales, facilitated her innate inventiveness and creativeness.
Polly takes pride in extracting and modifying artistic techniques
from many, many artists, but does give credit to Emmy Krick who
was a mentor from childhood to just last year when Emmy passed.

about Emmy.) Polly, in addition to her lifetime endeavors in the
fine arts, has also been the graphic artist for the Chester County
Library and for twenty-seven years the full time graphic artist for
the Chester County Planning Commission, a position from which
she just retired. With retirement Polly can attend full time to her
first love, the fine arts, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, and
more. So please examine and enjoy a few examples of Polly's art.

My most recent endeavors are into an imaginative world
I call 'Polymorphia' (meaning many forms). Discovery
occurs throughout the process, allowing poetic moods and
multidimensional characters to unfold. My vision is to have
these unique personalities and otherworldly places evoke an
emotion in the viewers, taking them on a journey of their own

Artist Statement for Rick Davis:
My art and my work are intertwined. I love how I make
my living composing photographs and videos. I manipulate
the happy surprises of light, shape and movement. Making and
taking an image are almost interchangeable for me. Being aware
