"Be a Part of
Teen Health Week"

et me guess. You hear that, and you groan, "How in the world can I fit
another thing into my day?!" You think, "Yeah, that's a great idea, but really,
who has time to come up with something for yet another health observance?"

Well, consider this:

Do you have educational materials that you have been meaning to share with
your teen patients?
Do you know of a good online resource that you wish your teen patients would
go to rather than to WebMD or Wikipedia?
Is there a health issue affecting your teen patients that you feel like the press just
doesn't get right or understand?
Do you have some snappy lime green clothing and never any chance to sport it?
These are all things you already have in your back pocket that work for Teen
Health Week.
The Global Teen Health Week is an annual week-long designation to raise the
profile of adolescent health. Teen Health Week was first celebrated in Pennsylvania
in 2016, developed as a collaboration between Real Talk with Dr. Offutt, LLC, the
College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health,
with support of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. In November of 2016, the AMA
resolved to advocate for the annual observance of a Teen Health Week at the national
level. With this support, and with increasing interest of adolescent health specialists
and advocates around the world, March 18-24, 2018 marks the first year that Teen
Health Week will be celebrated globally.
