my parents when they told me that my two brothers are going to
college and that I will not be going." Abbe further remarked to
me. "Over the years I pursued art knowledge where and when I
could find it. Some self-taught, some in classes at different schools.
I never gave up on myself or my dreams. Sure life would get in the
way as it does for all of us, but if you are passionate about something you just have to do it, to feed your soul." Well Abbe, I am
the embarrassed one, for 28 years I did not know. I am so pleased
that I can now share your talent and passion. Let me introduce
you to our readers.
Abbe Resnick was born in Brooklyn, New York, then moved
to Buffalo, New York where the family frequented Canada,
Niagara Falls and the beautiful Lake Ontario region. This fostered
a love and appreciation of scenic beauty. As a teen she lived on
Long Island, and later in Florida and Georgia. Chester County
has been her home for the last 30 years with her husband Dr. Ray
Resnick where they raised their two children. The beauty of this
county and dynamic art community has allowed for her artistic
passion to flourish.
As a child Abbe would often be found with a set of graphite
pencils and a sketch book in hand. Her passion grew even stronger in high school where she received a national award for her
painting which was influenced by the surrealism style of Salvador
Dali. Abbe was then accepted to C.W. Post College and a Bachelor of Arts program only to find out her family did not have the
means. During her post-high school days Abbe was able to take a
few courses a semester while making an income painting airbrush
