W
e are more than halfway through 2021, and finally we
are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I again thank
our physician members for their tenacity in their fight
against COVID-19. Many of our physician members
have volunteered to provide vaccines to our community, and many have
gotten sick in their line of duty.
The Delta variant has thrown a wrench in our nation's reopening plan.
However, as vaccination rates are increasing, the country is gradually
opening. I would encourage our members to gently convince our community
to get vaccinated - not only for their health, but also for the
health of the people around them and for the greater good.
The Dauphin County Medical Society, along with the PAMED, has our
physicians' backs. We have lobbied with our government for adequate
PPE for physicians and sufficient vaccine supplies, and have tried to
remove bureaucratic hurdles that prevent our physicians to serve the
best interests of their patients.
The PAMED House of Delegates will have their annual meeting in
October and our Dauphin County Medical society (DCMS) delegation
will be working hard to pass resolutions protecting the interests of our
physician members and their patients. I urge our members to strengthen
DCMS by promptly renewing their membership and having their
non-member physician friends and colleagues join the Medical Society.
I would like to again remind you that PAMED website is a one-stop
shop for CME requirements for your license renewal.
