Panel 1- Christie v. NCAA: The Future of Sports
Gambling ... This panel discussed the pending Supreme Court
decision regarding the constitutionality of the Professional and
Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), and its implications
for 10th Amendment jurisprudence and sports gambling in the

Panel 2-Athletes and Activism: Not Sticking to Sports

should be. Panelists: Justin Tuck, former NFL player and twotime Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants; Glenn
Bracey II, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology
& Criminology, Villanova University. Moderated by Andrew
Brandt, Director, The Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for Sports Law,
Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

The Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal is comprised of
second- and third-year law students who were hand-selected
for their excellent writing ability, scholarship, and research
skills from the Villanova Law Summer Writing Competition.

The Journal recently changed its format from the Sports
and Entertainment Law Journal to the Jeffrey S. Moorad
Sports Law Journal to honor the generous donation from
esteemed alumnus Jeffrey S. Moorad. The online branch was
created in 2012 to provide a source of up-to-date research and
scholarship on cutting-edge legal issues in sports. *

Panel 3-#MeToo: The Movement in Sports ... The
#MeToo movement has caused shockwaves across various
industries including Hollywood, music and sports. This panel
delved into the future of the movement and protections for
athletes. Panelists: Larissa Boyce, former gymnast and
survivor, The State of Michigan v. Lawrence G. Nassar; John
Manly, Esq., Partner and Founder, Manly, Partner and Founder,
Manly, Stewart, Finaldi Lawyers; John Barr, Reporter, ESPN.
Moderated by Margaret Erin Rodgers Schmidt, Partner,
