James "Junior" May, Renowned Designer. For 44 years, May and his
family have been supplying top-of-the-line custom-tailored outfits for
well-known entertainers and shows such as the Mummers, Disney on Ice,
and New York City Broadway show performers. He started his career 52
years ago as a bridal gown designer from his shop in Ridley Township.
In 2014, May received a resolution from Delaware County Council and
was recognized by District Attorney Jack Whelan for his contribution
to public safety for Delaware County residents and commitment to fight
crime through educational awareness. See more about May in this issue!
"CID" Police Dog Mascot of the Office of the Delaware County
District Attorney. The life-like German Shepherd costume was uniquely
designed and donated by long-time Delaware County resident and
renowned costume designer James May of Ridley Township. With the
purpose to engage young residents in a fun and interactive way, CID, the
German Shepherd mascot, goes out into the community with an anticrime message. The mascot addresses public safety issues for children
such as Internet safety, the dangers of online predators, and illegal drugs.
Another goal of using the mascot is to build on the relationship between
police and the community.
Karen E. Friel, Esquire, Treasurer. A solo practitioner who handles
criminal defense, family law, estate, and Children and Youth cases. She
was formerly employed by the Delaware County Public Defender's
Office and is an active member of the Delaware County Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Carrie A. Woody, Esquire, Recording Secretary. An attorney with
Woody Law Offices, P.C., where she handles matters involving estate
administration, adoptions, guardianships, and special needs trusts. Carrie
is a Co-Chair of the DCBA Mentoring Committee and an active member
of the Young Lawyers' Section.
Kathryn Meloni, Esquire, DCBA Member. A solo practitioner in
The Law Office of Kathryn A. Meloni, Esq., P.C., where she specializes
in family law, wills and probate, and adoption law. And on her lap,
Frangelica Meloni, Certified Therapy Dog, Advanced STEX level,
Masters, CGC at PAWS for People. Kathryn and Frangelica are one of
a few pet therapy teams that spend time in the Juvenile Dependency and
