T
he leaves are changing. There
is a refreshing chill in the
air. Football season is in full
swing. While we are in the midst of
enjoying the autumn season, the
GRCA staff just finished up a very
busy season of its own - one I'm
dubbing the " Season of Signature
Events. "
For the first time ever, GRCA
has hosted three of its four Signature
Events in back-to-back months.
While this made an incredibly busy
time for both our events and marketing
teams, it was also a ton of
fun and gave us all another taste of
normalcy by finally being face-to-face
with our members.
In August, we hosted the Annual Picnic and welcomed more than
300 members to FirstEnergy Stadium for a night of networking, live
music, food, drinks and a homerun derby.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GRCA had to make changes
to its Annual Dinner, which is traditionally held at an indoor venue,
by moving it outside to the Truck N Brew at Willow Glen. By the
way, won't it be amazing when none of us will ever have to start a
sentence like that ever again? The Dinner was a beautiful event that
honored the businesses that make Berks County great. We heard
from keynote speaker Sarah Thomas whose advice of making sure
you are your own biggest motivator will stick with me for a long time.
And just a few weeks ago, the Building Berks event returned
to the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading and hosted more than 150
people. The event celebrated the best of the best in engineering,
construction and design.
In addition to those three Signature Events, Berks Women2Women
hosted its annual " Evening of Empowerment " featuring Strother
Gaines. Guests enjoyed appetizers and a bubbly bar while finding
their inner unicorns.
I hope that as a GRCA member, you were able to come and enjoy
at least one if not all of these great events. If not, we'll see you in
2022. In the meantime, read all about what you may have missed
