As we look ahead to the post-COVID era, Herbein is laying the
foundation for a brighter future with a shared mission, clear strategy,
and a workplace culture that brings out the best in us as individuals,
and as a team.
Our expansion plans center on a carefully considered blend of
organic and inorganic growth. Managing Partner Dave Stonesifer
and the Herbein executive leadership team consider mergers with
these questions in mind: Does the deal expand the firm's opportunity?
And does this merger partner align with our core business and
overall sense of purpose?
While the firm continues to have discussions with several merger
candidates, the June 2021 combination with Reading-based Mosteller
& Associates, one of the Mid-Atlantic's leading regional full-service
human resource organizations, was a strong example of those guiding
principles in action.

Herbein Chief Financial Officer Joe Witkowski, a key member of
the merger planning team, said this combination illustrated how two
firms came together to give our clients the edge they need to stay
competitive in this extraordinary time. The strategic acquisition of
Mosteller reflected our commitment to always look for new, focused
solutions to help our clients reach their full potential. Stonesifer
acknowledged that meeting client needs is a top priority of the firm.
" In addition to year-round conversations and feedback gleaned from
educational webinars, we also conduct a client satisfaction survey
each year. Among the top issues we hear are staffing concerns, finding
the right personnel for key roles, team member staff training, and
HR guidelines related to safety particularly in the post-pandemic
landscape, " he said.
He also noted the importance of cultural fit for Herbein,
which recently was named Best Place to Work in PA for
the second straight year.
" As one of the Mid-Atlantic's most trusted accounting, tax and
business consulting firms, we were excited to welcome Mosteller
into the Herbein family. Our cultures and values were well-aligned,
and we shared the same entrepreneurial, trusted approach to doing
business, " said Stonesifer.
