onths of buzz culminated in a BIG way on
Thursday, June 1 as LAWYERPALOOZA
took over Ardmore Music Hall, proving
to all in attendance that lawyers do, indeed, ROCK.
Nearly 300 MBA members and familes, friends,
and other music lovers gathered to celebrate the
Montgomery Bar Foundation's 30th Anniversary and
support the noble organizations it supports. Master of
Ceremonies Hon. Gary S. Silow opened the evening
with a witty and irreverent monologue and kept it
flowing with his between-act musings and natural
charisma. Six musical acts served up stellar sounds of
rock, bluegrass, acoustic, top-40, R&B, and more,
as the enthusiastic crowd danced, mingled, and took
in the talent in their midst, which even included a
surprise performance by the Honorable Thomas C.
Branca.
By all accounts, the night was a major success. Over
$20,000 was raised, which will allow the Foundation
to continue to support important justice-related
causes in our community, and everyone enjoyed an
evening that will live in their memories for many
years to come. Foundation President Michael F.
Rogers raved, "I could not have been more impressed
with the event. I was completely overwhelmed by
the success of the evening which had the perfect
combination of charitable benefit, appreciation/
recognition for the Fellows, cooperation between the
bench and the bar, and great music. I will remember
this for a long time."
