events for our members and initiatives to further the access to
justice, cultivate leadership skills in and amongst our members,
provide assistance to our community through initiatives such as
the Liberty and Law Civics Education Program and the Eviction
Prevention Initiative Coalition, and advance diversity and inclusion
in our organization. Finally, we will celebrate and recognize those
who have led us to this great point in our history, and those that
have supported the bar association along the way.
In closing, if I could ask one thing of our members at this early
stage, it would be that you attend the annual business luncheon on
Friday, January 10, 2020. This event is an incredibly important
day for the bar association where we honor those who deserve
recognition. At that time, I hope to lay out a vision for MBA
2020, which I can only hope and dream will match the fanfare and

energy of MBA 125, spearheaded by our past President, and now
federal court jurist, the Honorable Mark A. Kearney. While we
most certainly will celebrate our tremendous heritage and traditions
along the way, there is also much work to do, and we will tackle
many issues of significance this year.
In my humble opinion, there is no greater, nor important,
time to be a part of our vibrant bar association. I am certain that
you will find value, purpose and unparalleled opportunities for
professional growth with greater involvement, and will surely
have some fun and make ever-lasting friendships and professional
relationships in the process. I sincerely look forward to seeing each
and every one of our members at many events throughout the year
while we collectively strive to make this a meaningful, fun, and
memorable year in the MBA's distinguished history.
