Concilio honors PCMS president

The Goddard School is a preschool program for children from
six weeks to six years of age with more than 500 schools across the
U.S. Headquarters is in King of Prussia. The school plans to open
in the fall of 2021 after the first and second floors of the building
are fully renovated, along with new building upgrades to all the
mechanical systems.

Philadelphia County Medical Society President Dr. Natalia
Ortiz-Torrent was honored as Concilio's Essential Worker of the
Year in recognition of her tireless devotion to the Philadelphia
community during the COVID-19 pandemic at a virtual ceremony
in mid-October.

Another $20 billion in provider funds available

Ortiz-Torrent is the first Hispanic woman president in the
171-year history of The Philadelphia County Medical Society.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
recently announced that it will be disbursing another $20 billion
in CARES Act Provider Relief Funds.
Under this Phase 3 General Distribution allocation, physicians
that have already received Provider Relief Fund payments may apply
for additional funding that considers financial losses and changes
in operating expenses caused by the coronavirus.
Recognizing the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
has increased anxiety and depression in the country and behavioral
health providers have continued to provide care through telehealth
and other means, HHS is also announcing that the nation's behavioral
health care providers, including psychiatrists, are eligible for funding.
Previously ineligible physicians, such as those who began
practicing in 2020, will also be eligible to apply. Physicians will

she said that "we don't have to suffer anymore. We can fight this."
Concilio called Ortiz-Torrent an advocate for mental health
regarding "the toll that COVID-19 has had on our communities."
