Pennsylvania's Physician General, Dr. Rachel Levine, in 2014 issued
a statewide standing order allowing any Pennsylvanian to obtain
naloxone from a pharmacy without an individual prescription. 5,500
units were distributed from a syringe exchange to Philadelphians
who use drugs and are at risk for overdosing.

The task force and the subcommittees convened on alternate
two-week intervals from January 11, 2017, to March 22, 2017.
Each session included think-tank discussions, analysis of data and
presentation by experts, and ended with open public comment
and testimony.

The task force was composed of a diverse group of members (See
Pennsylvania has also been active in the legislation of opioid
enclosure list.) which covered federal and local law enforcement, usage. In the last and current legislative sessions, many attempts
