Melcher Grist Mill Open House
Date: Sunday, September 12, 2021
Time: 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Location: Berks County Heritage Center,
1102 Red Bridge Rd., Reading
Cost: FREE
Tour the relocated 1888 Melcher's Grist Mill onsite at the
Heritage Center. This special opening day will feature
the history and function of the mill, used by the Melcher
family on their farm in Bally, Pennsylvania prior to the
structure being relocated to the Heritage Center in 1985.
The mill represents a rare and complete example of a
water-powered, multi-purpose farm mill.
Gruber Wagon Works
Date: Friday, October 8, 2021

Location: Berks County Heritage Center,

Cost: $5.00/person
Visit the the Gruber Wagon Works, after hours, and
enjoy a unique evening tour of this one-of-a-kind
National Historic Landmark. Tours will start every
half-hour. Pre-registration required. To register,

Harvest Fun Day

and the Yocum Institute for a fun-filled afternoon at
the Berks County Heritage Center. The middle school
ensemble will perform " Legends of Berks County. "
