very skillfully encouraging him to explore his interests instead of making him feel obligated to join the family business, which ultimately led him back...just not quite yet. Ed graduated Mount St. Mary's, then went on to grad school at Boston University. The most remarkable part of this story is not the grad program, but rather what happened in September 1965 while he was there. One night while on a date at Jack & Marion's Delicatessen, he noticed a young lady seated nearby who was also on a date. Her date was a cordial fellow and chatted with Ed the entire meal, but Ed didn't hear a word because he couldn't take his eyes off of Miss Lynda Hudson of Leominster, MA. She was an undergraduate at BU - and a cheerleader. Ed made a point of attending the home football game the following weekend hoping to see her again.
