Inside the 501HDV is a powerful new feature that takes its inspiration from Manfrotto’s top professional head models – a fixed counterbalance spring – which helps ensure both smoother tilt movements and greater equipment safety, even when the tilt locks are inadvertently left off. The easy-access on/off switch allows the counterbalance system to be engaged or disengaged for different filming needs and for quick panning and tilting. The 501HDV offers an updated design, which has been created for improved ergonomics with locks and knobs that allow for a more solid grip and better control. Hitachi introduce 14-bit HD production camera At this year’s IBC Hitachi introduced the SK-3200P, a new high-performance 14 BIT A/D IT CCD camera from the SK-3000 series of digital processing HDTV cameras. The new multi-format Hitachi SK-3200P is intended for HDTV and SDTV field and studio production applications. The camera is available with natively scanned HDTV 1080i or 720p, or with 24p option Inter-line Transfer, 2/3-inch CCDs included in the standard configuration are the SDTV 480i Digital and analogue signal outputs. With this new camera system, Hitachi offers a half-rack, 2RU base station model CU-3100 which is well suited for “pure SDI video signal” facilities. Optionally offered is a full-size CCU model CU-3300 that includes additional analogue and digital input/outputs leading to additional connection and operational flexibility. The design of the SK3200P camera body lends itself to prolonged ´onshoulder´ use due to its lightweight body. With a focal length starting at 7mm, giving an angle of view around 68°49’, it is ideally suited for shooting in tight locations and smaller studios. It includes all the features found on Fujinon big box lenses such as Digi Power, FIND system support, full HD optical performance and full digital control. With the fully boxed housing working noise is virtually non-existent and the lens can be used in the most critical environments. Focus breathing has been virtually eliminated, making the XA22x7BES ideally suited to modern high quality studios and drama productions.
