Sony expands professional HDV line-up with HVR-V1E Sony has expanded its
range of professional HDV camcorders with the HVR-V1E. “Our professional
HDV products have proven popular with the market and by the end of
September we will have shipped around 91,000 units worldwide since
introduction in January 2005.” said Stuart Reed, product marketing
manager at Sony Europe. “The HVR-V1E is the latest camcorder to join our
expanding range of products and with its progressive scan feature, provides
film-makers with smaller budgets greater choice when shooting their
productions.” The HVR-V1E has newly incorporated the 3 ClearVid CMOS
Sensor imaging technology. Coupled with Sony’s Enhanced Imaging
Processor EIP , these sensors provide high sensitivity, low noise and a
wide dynamic range to achieve high-quality images. The ClearVid CMOS
Sensor also eradicates picture smear and has 4 times high speed scanning
capability enabling “Smooth Slow Rec” function. While the “3
ClearVid CMOS Sensor” system provides great picture quality in HDV
1080/50i video, the HVR-V1E newly supports 25p progressive scan feature.
The feature is ideal for producers that want a more film-like quality to
their work and lends itself well to film-makers on a smaller budget. New
‘clip-on’ wireless transmitter At IBC 2006 Link Research showed a new
clip-on control panel for the LinkXP wireless camera transmitter, which
allows the wireless camera system to be configured in the field without an
IPAQ or laptop. The unit will be used to configure the operational
frequency and other parameters such as modulation and input. It shows the
settings for the system on a full colour LCD display. The clip-on panel
fastens onto the LinkXP unit without any additional brackets and connects
to the transmitter via an RS232 connection. This is an ideal addition for
the LinkXP system, either for new wireless camera system users or for
existing users who would like the convenience of the clip-on control.
Barco shows new monitoring system live at IBC. Whether on or off-line,
editors and post production staff need to view multiple sources
simultaneously, preferably within a limited viewing field. Directors also
find Barco's managed broadcast monitoring solution especially appealing
for its flexibility and the way it adjusts to their preferred working
environment. At live events, sports journalists need to see several views
of the action on one display. Combining all camera views on a single
screen ensures more accurate, exciting, and up-todate coverage of events.
7 Compact all-in-one reporter unit! There is good news for radio reporters
looking for an all-in-one solution, so that they can do away with the
hassle of carrying around recorders, report-o-phones, PC’s and endless
numbers of cables when on the job. The Parrot is an integrated solution
aimed at radio reporters who sometimes need to be live on-air from
location, but who also often make a recording beforehand. For the live
contribution the reporter needs to be in direct contact with the studio
– but with Parrot the recording can also be sent as an audio file, thus
retaining its quality. This is possible because the unit, connected via
Bluetooth to a mobile telephone, sets-up a digital 4-wire connection to
the studio. Parrot is distributed in South Africa by B&I Engineering.
Barco have introduced a new range of display products for the broadcast
industry, including backdrop displays, as well as their next generation
monitoring system for facility wide monitoring. The Networked Broadcast
Monitoring System, named Barco’s NG Series was demonstrated Warning : Unknown : The session id contains invalid characters, valid
